AP Calculus Digital Knowledge Base
The Pedagogical Problem
AP Calculus demands a profound conceptual understanding of interconnected theorems. Students frequently get lost in the algebraic weeds and lose sight of the overarching mathematical narrative. Static paper notes often fail to capture the progressive logic of calculus—how limits build into derivatives, which in turn build into integrals and contextual applications.
The Technical Solution
To provide a structured and easily navigable learning companion, I developed a dedicated AP Calculus website using MkDocs. The architecture of the site directly mirrors the pedagogical progression of the course. It features clearly delineated sections: Limits & Continuity, Differential Calculus (Basic and Advanced), Contextual and Analytical Applications, and Integral Calculus. The clean typography and responsive design ensure that complex mathematical notation remains highly readable on any device.
Classroom Impact
This digital notebook acts as a reliable anchor for students navigating a challenging curriculum. By presenting the material in an interconnected, easily searchable format, students are better able to mentally map the hierarchy of calculus concepts. It significantly reduces pre-exam anxiety by ensuring that all foundational theorems and examples are just a keyword search away, ultimately leading to deeper retention and stronger analytical skills.
